The European Union has taken another fundamental step towards sustainability and climate change mitigation with the recent review of the Energy Efficiency Directive. This new commitment reflects the adaptation of its climate and energy legislative framework to “Fit for 55”, a package of measures to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030.
