To count on the best skills available, in 2009 SEG Ingeniería entered a strategic business partnership with one of the pioneers in wind power development in Germany: EAB New Energy GmbH.
Together with EAB New Energy and its Brazilian subsidiary EPI Energía P&I Ltda, SEG Ingeniería developed several wind farms in Uruguay, three of which have already been awarded in two tenders put out by UTE in 2011 and 2012. These wind farms are Peralta GCEE I(www.peraltawind.com), Peralta GCEE II(www.peraltawind.com) (kick of) and Cerro Grande (to be implementation), respectively located in the departments of Cerro Largo and Tacuarembó and totaling 150 MW of installed wind power capacity.
Éolica de Uruguay, a company that is in the early stages of wind development, was also born from that strategic partnership. A complete wind energy development involves a series of milestones to ensure the success of the project, including: Lease of land for its site, wind resource measurement according to international standards, design of the farm to maximize energy production, choice of technology to be used, detailed economic feasibility studies, tax analysis to obtain the various benefits from investing in this type of clean energy, environmental studies, archaeological studies, procurement of permits from municipal and national authorities, specific soil studies and detailed topographic surveys.
SEG Ingeniería is the largest wind developer in the country and continues to carry out projects for both foreign and local investors with more than 200 MW of wind power on its pipeline to be taken advantage of in the coming years, in addition to the 150 MW already awarded.
We develop mega wind generation auto-production projects under current regulations for industries (and other large consumers of UTE) offering the best sites for off-location generation or developing projects from scratch on their own sites. The future owner of the installation is assured high profitability and technical reliability backed by the over 20 year-experience of our partners EAB New Energy GmbH of Germany.
Once a wind farm is operating it is necessary to assure the owner maximum performance so a number of key factors must be controlled.
SEG Ingeniería relies on the experience of 3Energy and the Heliotec Service Group of Germany to provide this service in Uruguay and in the region.
