In order to add the best skills SEG Ingeniería in 2009 celebrated a strategic association with one of the pioneers in wind energy development in Germany: EAB New EnergyGmbH.
Along with EAB New Energy and their Brazilian subsidiary EPI Energía P&I Ltda, SEG Ingeniería developed various wind farms in Uruguay, three of which already have been awarded in two tenders by UTE in the years 2011 and 2012. They are wind farms Peralta GCEE I, Peralta GCEE II and Cerro Grande, located respectively in the departments of Tacuarembó and Cerro Largo, and totaling 150 MW of Power in Wind Energy. From that strategic association Eólica de Uruguay was also born, a company that works with the initial stages of the development of Wind Energy.
A complete development of wind energy implies a series of milestones to assure the success of the project like for example: Lease of land for siting, wind resource measurement according to international standards, design of the farm to maximize obtaining of energy, selection of the technology to use, detailed study of economic viability, tax analysis to take advantage of the tax benefits in investing in clean energy as such, environmental studies, archeological studies, municipal permissions, national and to competent authorities, specific soil studies and detailed topographic surveys.
Being now the largest wind developer in the country, SEG Ingeniería S.A. continues developing projects both for foreign investors and local counting on their pipeline with more than 200 MW of Wind Energy to be finalized in the coming years, in addition to the 150 MW already awarded.
We Develop projects of mega-auto-generation under current regulations for industries (and other large consumers of UTE) offering the best sites in case of off farm generation or developing projects from scratch in their own land. This assures the future owner of the installed auto-generation, the highest possible return and a technical solvency with a technical support for more than 20 years of experience of our partners EAB New EnergyGmbH from Germany.
Once a wind farm is operational it is necessary to assure the owner maximum performance. For them it is necessary to control a series of fundamental factors.
SEG Ingeniería counts on the experience of 3Energy and HelioServiceGroup (from Germany) to provide this service in Uruguay and the region.
